Isaia Ah-Hing is the fourth player to start at quarterback for PCC in the Lancers four games this season.

And boy did he make a first impression.

The Rosemead High product was incredible.

He completed 25 of 34 passes for 318 yards.

The freshman threw TD passes of 24, 21, 10, and 6 yards, and he didn’t turn the ball over once.

In their previous two wins, SCC had a combined margin of victory of 100-20, but that all changed on Saturday night.

PCC handed the Jaguars a 38-34 loss, despite SCC holding a 10 point fourth-quarter lead.

The victory is the first at PCC for new coach Steve Mojarro, who took over the duties just weeks before the season was to begin, and his players seem to love him.

Lancers’ wide receiver Stevie Williams, who was limping noticeably after the game, had an enormous effort.

Williams caught 11 passes for 109 yards and 3 TD’s.

Williams caught TD passes of 24, 10 and 6 yards, and two of those came in the final 5 minutes after the Lancers were trailing 34-24.

Ah-Hing hit Williams on a 10-yard strike with 5 minutes to play and then the go-ahead, 6-yard score with just 21 seconds to play.

Cardell Jeffers had a 21-yard TD from Ah-Hing in the third quarter and Enrique Lozano converted on a 42-yard field goal in the first half.

Lozano was also solid in the punting department, including handling an incoming rush, going to his right and booting a ball nearly 50 yards down field on a play it looked SCC was going to take over deep in Lancers’ territory.

Jshoun Wolfe and Jared Henry both picked off passes for PCC.

PCC’s defense saw Andy Reyes and Matt Terlizzi finishing with 6 tackles apiece, and Jared Henry, Siaki Alualu, Kobe Quiroga, Tristen Chavarria and Jasper Chavez all had 5 tackles each.

PCC (1-3) will travel to Compton next Saturday at 6.

Quotable:

PCC coach Steven Mojarro: “Our defensive staff does a great job. We’ll be here tomorrow (Sunday) at 6 a.m. getting ready for Compton. The ball didn’t bounce our way the first couple games and we had a great week of practice. We knew something special would happen. Isaia is a special kid. We’re excited for him, because he’s got a lot of upside.”

PCC quarterback Isaia Ah-Hing: “I had to trust the game plan and focus on getting first downs. It’s a little faster, a little different (from high school to college football). Tonight, we came together as one and like a family.”

PCC wide receiver Stevie Williams: “You can’t give up. Even when we’re down. The game is four quarters and we kept our heads in the game. He (Ah-Hing) was unbelievable. When the pocket collapsed, he rolled out and created plays for others.”

PCC defensive back Jshoun Wolfe: “We had to stick to our assignments and do our jobs. I had pretty good coverage on No. 17. We had faith in the offense. That’s a warrior right there (Ah-Hing). The main part was he had no turnovers.”

Box Score:
SWC: 7-17-3-7-(34)
PCC: 7-10-7-14-(38)
