Maddie Reed helped lead Mayfield to a 25-16, 25-22 and 25-16 victory over Rio Hondo Prep on Thursday
Annie Evans added 9 kills and 6 digs for the Cubs.
Sarah Smith had 6 kills and an ace, while Colleen Henderson chipped in 5 kills and 14 digs.
Ellie Watkins led Mayfield with 35 assists and she also had 8 digs.
Mayfield will host Flintridge Sacred Heart Monday at 5:30 to come out their regular season schedule and await their CIF-SS playoff pairing.

Mayfield coach Cambria Martin: “Though there were some bumps in the road along the way, I’m extremely proud of my girls finishing 8-4 and getting 3rd place in such a tough league. Being a new coach to the Prep League, I wasn’t sure what our competition would look like this season but it feels great to be able to officially congratulate my girls on making it into CIF. Now that league play is over, we look forward to playing FSHA on Monday before setting our minds on getting prepared for the first round.”
