Junior Charles Ross (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) had among his best games of 2017 and scored six goals at Chapman University in Wednesday’s SCIAC men’s water polo bout. Ross was the best Beaver in the pool and also came away leading the team with eight shots without getting excluded. Four of his goals came in the second half, including the first goal of the third period to bring his team within three goals of the Panthers, the game’s closest deficit as late in the contest.
Freshman Alex Janosi (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Dexter) joined Ross with another effective game. He won three sprints and scored twice while drawing three exclusions. Fellow freshman Rahul Arun (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / Adlai E Stevenson) scored the Beavers’ ninth goal and led added to his team assists lead with three helpers. He also came away with two steals.
Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers will conclude a historically successful 2017 season when they travel to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Saturday, Nov. 11.
