Karina Moreno, Pasadena City College’s top offensive weapon the past two seasons on the softball team, will continue her education and playing career after signing a scholarship with NAIA Marymount California University in Palos Verdes.
Moreno, the team’s shortstop, batted .391 over two seasons, setting PCC school records for most runs scored in a season (48 this year) and for a career with 84. She totaled 99 hits, 44 walks and 38 stolen bases. Her collegiate career on-base percentage was nearly .500 (.488).
The lefty-hitting and right-handed throwing Moreno helped the Lancers to 45 victories and two 20-win seasons while also leading them to the program’s first Southern California Playoff appearance in 11 years.
Moreno was guided here by PCC head coach Monica Tantlinger.
