Accomplishment(s): The Tupy sisters, along with their teammates, had the best week of any area basketball program thus far, and regardless of gender. The Cubs won five games in consecutive days, including an important Prep League victory over Poly on Tuesday. They went on to win the Artesia Tournament, which included triumphs over Edgewood, La Puente, Saddleback and Artesia. Both Tupy’s played well throughout the week, as did tournament MVP Marguerite Irie. Sarah’s best effort was a 14-point, 10-rebound showing in an 18-point victory over Saddleback on Thursday. Katie saved her best for last, as the junior led the Cubs with 15 points and 12 rebounds in the championship game over host Artesia.
