It wasn’t the way Poly started, it was the way the Panthers finished that was decisive on Wednesday evening.

The Panthers trailed by 14 points at halftime on the road at South Pasadena.

Poly, though, outscored the Tigers by 19 in the second half and earned the 49-44 nonleague victory.

In fact, Poly held South Pasadena to just 13 second-half points.

Sophomore guard Kylie Kishi is really starting to find her groove, and she led the Panthers with 17 points.

Sarah Johnson was in double digits again, as the senior poured in 14.

Alexis Pappachan finished with 10 points and Keara Caragher added 6 points for the Panthers.

Poly won’t play again until January 6.

The Panthers will travel to Los Angeles to take on Shalhevet at 7, and then three days later, they’ll be back to Prep League play when they host Rio Hondo Prep.
