From STAFF REPORTS
We’ve run out of superlatives to describe La Salle senior Julia Macabuhay.
The Lancers’ guard is the highest scoring player (boy or girl) in the entire Pasadena area.
On Thursday, she continued her excellence with 32 points in a 62-26 victory at St. Pius in a Santa Fe League game.
Her output on its face is impressive enough, but take into account two things.
First, she did that in just three quarters of play, and secondly, she outscored their opponent by 6 points on her own.
In no way is she out there or contributing alone, but she sets the pace for all area players.
Alyssa Arroyo finished with 9 points, while Brianna Antillon had 7.
Nicole Ortiz and Crystal Ramirez each chipped in 4 points for the first-place Lancers.
Natalia Gutierrez led the Warriors with 7 points and Leslie Meza had 6.
La Salle will travel to Mary Star of the Sea next Tuesday at 7 in a battle of the only two Santa Fe League unbeaten programs.
