Maranatha has had a roller coaster season.
The good news, though, is the Minutemen are playing their best basketball when they needed to, which is in league play.
After Tuesday night’s dominating 81-51 victory over visiting Village Christian, the Minutemen are tied with Heritage Christian atop the Olympic League standings.
Xavier Ford had a huge night and led all scorers with 30 points.
The senior guard added 4 assists and 3 steals as well.
Chris Austin finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Matt Lee and Henry Alvarez paced the Village Christian offense with 12 points apiece.
Wes Clarkson chipped in with 7 points and 6 rebounds.
Jake Anderson had 7 points and 3 steals.
The Minutemen had the game locked door after two quarters.
Maranatha took a 45-15 lead into the break.
Maranatha will next face Durango of Las Vegas on Saturday at Cerritos College at 12:30 p.m.
The Minutemen get back into Olympic League play a week from tonight when they travel to Whittier Christian at 7.
