Mayfield is gaining some much-needed momentum as the regular season winds down and the CIF-SS playoffs begin.
The Cubs are on a 3-game winning streak.
On Friday, Mayfield defeated visiting Firebaugh, 4-2, in a Prep League contest.
The victory vaulted the Cubs to within one game of second place Westridge with three games to play.
Mayfield can do itself a huge favor by defeating visiting Westridge this coming Friday.
Back to Friday’s 3-goal victory over the Falcons.
Daria Young, Bella Leifer, Michaela Gallo and Amber Berrios all scored for the Cubs.
Mayfield will travel to Chadwick in another Prep League battle, and as the regular season winds down.
