La Salle took a big step forward and towards the postseason.
The Lancers avenged a 60-55 setback at St. Monica back on January 12.
Jason McDonald’s 21 points paced the Lancers in the 79-44 Camino Real League victory.
The Mariners and Lancers are both 3-4 in league play and each have three remaining games.
La Salle, though, has games with St. Genevieve and Bell-Jeff, the fifth and sixth place teams in league before finishing with undefeated (in league) St. Anthony.
St. Monica faces St. Anthony, second-place Bishop Amat and St. Genevieve.
Darius Henderson added 18 for La Salle and Cade Cadem finished with 11 points.
La Salle will host last-place Bellarmine-Jefferson (0-12) on Friday at 7.
