Flintridge Prep earned at least a share of their fifth consecutive Prep League championship on Saturday.
With three games to play, Prep has a three-game lead and they face Poly, Mayfield and winless Firebaugh next week.
Anyone that might have thought it was going to be easy for the Rebels on Saturday was wrong.
The Panthers put up a valiant fight.
In the end, though, Flintridge Prep defeated their rivals from Poly, 49-43, behind 27 points from Kaitlyn Chen.
Alexis Pappachan and Keara Caragher had huge games for Poly.
Pappachan finished with 15 points and Caragher added 14.
After an even first quarter (15-15), Prep took an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter, before Poly finished strong on a 13-8 run.
Andie Kim finished with 11 points for the Rebels and Sofia Gonzalez had 7.
Both Sarah Johnson and Kylie Kishi had 6 points each for Poly.
Poly and Prep will back at it on Tuesday.
The Panthers will host the Rebels at 3:30.
