From STAFF REPORTS
Muir is ready.
The Mustangs set themselves up for a winner-take-all scenario with visiting Pasadena on Thursday night.
To do that, though, Muir needed consecutive wins over Glendale, Burroughs, Arcadia, Crescenta Valley, Burbank and the last step was a victory over last-place Hoover.
You can put a check mark after each of those names, including Hoover, because the Mustangs handled the Tornadoes, 94-64, on Tuesday night to improve to 12-1 in Pacific League play.
Hunter Woods led the Mustangs with 29 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots.
It was an impressive effort, especially considering Woods had just 2 points at halftime.
Muir outscored Hoover, 57-36, in the second half.
Haleem Jenkins exploded for 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
Tasson Aubry added 8 points an 8 rebounds.
Simaine Stewart Junior finished with 7 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
Tiyon Martin added 6 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Neal Carter scored just 2 points, but he had 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Ethan Fleming contributed 4 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
The Muir-PHS game will tip off at 7:15, but it will be hard to get into the gym if you arrive after 5:30 on Thursday night.
