Devyn Netz started her sophomore season where she left off last year.
The reigning Pasadena Sports Now Softball Player of the Year allowed one run on six hits and struck out 11 batters on Tuesday.
Maranatha defeated Alhambra, 6-1, in their season opener.
Aly Granados and Gracie Rose each doubled for the Minutemen and both Granados and Netz had RBIs in the victory.
Alhambra and Maranatha committed four errors apiece.
The Minutemen out-hit the Moors, 8-6, and Alhambra left a game-high 10 runners on base.
Maranatha (1-0) won’t play again until next Tuesday when they host Poly at 3:30.
