La Salle won a fourth game against Damien to force a fifth and final set with the Spartans.
Damien, though, remained undefeated after edging the Lancers.
The Spartans outlasted La Salle, 25-16, 17-25, 27-25, 22-25, 15-11.
Will Dalgarn led La Salle with 19 kills and 17 digs.
CJ Rettig added 21 digs and 8 kills.
Anton Aritz had 12 kills and Brandon King finished with 14 digs for the Lancers.
La Salle will host South Pasadena on Thursday at 5.
