Flintridge Prep’s 21st consecutive victory was historic.
There was no doubt about the outcome in Tuesday’s 14-1 victory over visiting Narbonne in the first round of the CIF State Division 3 playoffs.
But no one could have predicted how red hot junior Helen Schaefer would be.
Schaefer scored 7 goals and assisted on 3 more goals at St. Francis High School last night.
Schaefer’s huge night started with 28 goals heading into the game, and she now has 35 on the season.
Prep took a 9-0 lead into the break and were never challenged.
Ella Treinen, Mikaela Celeste, Sabine Fregoso, Julia Gonzalez and Madison Bradford all scored Tuesday for the Rebels.
Julia Gonzalez, Prep’s leading scorer on the season, did not find the back of the Narbonne net, but the senior had a game-best 4 assists.
Lindsey Uteda, Libby Penn and Katya Besch all spent time in goal for the Rebels.
Prep will next host Centennial Corona (16-2-5) on Thursday at 3.
