The first week in Mission League play didn’t quite go as planned for the St. Francis baseball program.

The Golden Knights took leads into the sixth inning of games on Monday and Tuesday with undefeated Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks just to see the Knights rally late for victories.

On Wednesday, St. Francis led 1-0 after one-half of an inning, but it was all Notre Dame from there on out.

Tyler Stromsborg went 4 innings on the mound for ND, allowing one run on one hit.

Stromsborg walked one batter and struck out three to earn the victory.

Aaron Treloar got St. Francis out to the 1-0 lead when he doubled off the wall in the first inning to score Christian Muro.

Treloar was saddled with the loss on the mound, allowing four runs on nine hits over five innings.

John Spellman and Matt Odom had one hit apiece for the Golden Knights.

Michael Whiteside went 1 for 3 with a pair of runs scored and he drove in two runs for ND.

Diego Baqueiro had one hits and drove in a pair of runs.

Ian White went three scoreless innings, allowing two hits, walking none and striking out three.

St. Francis travels to Oaks Christian next Monday at 3 in the St. Paul Tournament.
