Breanna Macklin went 3 for 4 and drove in three runs.

Jazzmin Handy had two hits and drove in three runs herself.

Desiray Leagons went 2 for 4 and had a pair of RBIs for the Mustangs.

The Muir defense did its part, as their outfield had three assists when Hoover runners tried to take an extra base on hits.

Erica Morales tossed out a Hoover player trying to score on a fall ball to end an inning.

Lucy Aragon got the complete-game victory with four strikeouts, and that included getting out of a bases loaded and no out scenario unscathed.

Muir will travel to Glendale today (Thursday) in another Pacific League battle at 3:30.

Records: Muir (3-5, 1-0); Hoover (0-3, 0-1)
