It would have almost been understandable had Muir not totally been into Monday’s game with last place Glendale.
The Mustangs just 48 hours prior had their hearts ripped out of their chest after Crescenta Valley overcame a 5-1 deficit in the seventh inning on Friday.
But this Muir team has a new Sheriff and his name is Adonis Harrison.
And they bounced back like men, downing the visiting Nitros, 8-3, on Monday afternoon.
Valente Vera went six innings, allowing three runs, but only one of those was earned.
Vera scattered seven hits and struck out six batters.
Emiliano Martinez went a scoreless seventh on the mound to close out Glendale.
Angel Lopez had one hit and drove in a pair of runs.
Brian Love went 1 for 1 with a run scored and an RBI.
Davis Solis finished 2 for 4 with an RBI and run scored.
Vera walked three times at the plate and scored twice to help his own cause.
Thomas Kovarik got the loss for Glendale, going four innings and allowing seven runs on six hits and walking seven.
Kovarik didn’t strike out one Muir batter.
Joel Leon went 3 for 3 for the Nitros and drove in a run.
The Mustangs will travel to Glendale on Thursday with the hopes of riding Brian Love’s arm to a sweep of the Nitros.
