Yes, Harvard-Westlake did beat St. Francis, 4-1, Tuesday in a Mission League game.

It was the first of three between the Wolverines and the Golden Knights this week.

It was also the first game on their brand new field at the Glendale Sports Complex.

But considering Harvard-Westlake is ranked second in the state and third in the nation by MaxPreps, allowing four runs is hardly anything to be ashamed of.

Sam Hilboki got the win for HW, going the distance and allowing just one run on six hits.

Hilboki didn’t walk a batter and struck out six.

Aaron Treloar got the loss, allowing two runs and three hits over five innings.

Treloar walked six and fanned four.

Jack Duncan went the final two innings for the Golden Knights and surrendered two runs on three hits.

Doyle Kane went 2 for 3 for St. Francis.

Mikey Kane tripled and scored on an Aaron Treloar base hit.

Hayden Byrnes also tripled for the Golden Knights.

JP Corrigan went 1 for 2 with three RBIs for Harvard-Westlake.

RJ Schreck singled, doubled and scored once and DJ Bowser had two hits, including a double and he scored three times for the Wolverines.

Both teams will battle again Wednesday at 3:30 at Harvard-Westlake.
