From STAFF REPORTS

Every time people think Muir is ready to fold, the Mustangs show their backbone.

After a couple tough losses last week, Muir earned the two-game sweep this week of Glendale with their 3-2 road victory Thursday.

If their arch rivals from PHS defeat Burbank Saturday night, Muir would have sole possession of the fourth and final playoff spot in the Pacific League and with two weeks to go.

Brian Love has been incredible for the Mustangs.

On Thursday, Love went six innings and allowed just two runs on four hits to get the win.

Emiliano Martinez got the save after going a scoreless seventh inning for Muir.

Amaris and Aryonis Harrison had two hits apiece and four of the Mustangs’ seven hits.

Amaris and Aryonis each scored once and Aryonis drove in one run.

Valente Vera went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

KeyShawn Spicer had one hit and scored once for the Mustangs.

Muir will travel to Burbank Tuesday at 3:30 for the first of two next week with the Bulldogs.
