Accomplishment(s): The Maranatha catcher had the game of her young career in arguably her most important high school contest thus far. McAllister went 5 for 5 on Thursday in Maranatha’s 2-1 victory over Heritage in 10 innings. Her fifth and final hit came in the 10th, when she led off the inning with a double and scored the game-winning run after the Patriots’ shortstop fielded a Devyn Netz ground ball and threw it over the Heritage first baseman’s head. It was Maranatha’s first playoff victory since 2013. The Lady Minutemen will travel to La Canada (22-4-1) on Tuesday in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs.
