Flintridge Prep and Highland went back and forth for 11 innings in Friday’s CIF-SS Division 5 playoff marathon.
Unfortunately for the Rebels, Highland made Prep’s 62-mile bus ride back from Palmdale a quiet one.
The Bulldogs scored one seventh-inning run to push the game info extra frames, and after three more scoreless innings, Highland pushed one across in the bottom of the 11th inning to claim the 6-5 victory.
Nick Landa had a big game for Highland.
Landa doubled, tripled, scored one run and drove in a game-high four runs.
Landa also got the win on the mound after having pitched the top of the 11th for Highland.
Romeo Carrillo hit a solo home run for the Bulldogs.
Thomas Kosakowski finished 2 for 4 for the Rebels, he scored once and drove in a pair of runs.
Max Gitlin had one hit and two RBIs for Prep.
Nick Davis had two hits and scored two runs and the Prep senior went the first five innings on the mound and allowed just one earned run on four hits.
Davis walked four and struck out five batters.
Aidan Schraeder went 4 1/3 innings for the Rebels.
Schraeder surrendered two runs on three hits and he struck out six batters.
Buddy Palmer had two hits and scored once for Prep.
