After two lopsided losses a week or so ago to both Lakewood and FSHA, the La Salle volleyball program has been on a roll.

On Monday night, the Lancers welcomed the two-time defending Prep League champions from down the road, and Westridge never really threatened.

La Salle swept the Tigers by scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-20.

They have now won five consecutive matches, including victories over La Canada, Long Beach Wilson, Wilson of Hacienda Heights, Cypress and now Westridge.

Chloe Howell led the way with 13 kills and 7 digs.

Alessandra Perez and Devon Nardoni added 12 assists apiece and the two combined on 6 digs.

Vanessa Ramirez contributed 13 digs and 3 aces.

Crystal Ramirez finished with 13 digs and a pair of aces.

La Salle will travel to take on the defending CIF-SS and CIF state champs at Sierra Canyon tonight (Tuesday) at 5.

And then the Lancers host St. Anthony on Thursday night at 5 in the Del Rey League opener.

La Salle ran their league slate a perfect 8-0 in 2017, but the Saints from Long Beach are 8-0 to start 2018.

Westridge will host Providence this Friday at 5.

The Tigers will be get back to Prep League action on September 4 when they travel to Poly at 4:30.
