Accomplishment: Kane got the news less than an hour before Friday’s home opener that he’d be replacing a sick Darius Perrantes at quarterback. The senior stepped in for the area’s best QB and was remarkable. Kane threw for over 235 yards, including a pair of touchdown passes to Tanner Tomko. And in the fourth quarter, Kane capped the Golden Knights’ scoring by jogging in from 9 yards out. St. Francis earned its first win of the season after defeating Damien, 38-21, in a game that was never in doubt.
