Something has to give when two undefeated, high-scoring offenses go head-t0-head on Friday night at Sherman Oaks CES High School at 7.
Sherman Oaks has scored 187 points in four games and allowed just 62.
Flintridge Prep has scored more than 70 points in each of the last two games and hasn’t scored less than 57.
The Rebels defense has shut down Fulton, Hillcrest Christian and Bellarmine-Jefferson to 26 total points, giving them an average margin of victory of 55 points.
John Lytle will continue to manage the offense at quarterback, and rely on a bevy of running backs to keep the Rebels offense in stride.
“They’re physical and should be a good match up,” Prep coach Russell White said. “We just need to do what we’re supposed to do. They have a running back that’s pretty good, so we’ll have to wrap him up. We haven’t changed the playbook, but plan on running and throwing pretty evenly.”
White would like to see his young quarterback come into his own.
“I want to see my quarterback correct mistakes and show progression. I also want to see if I can challenge our defense and see how they’ll do.”
