Muir needs a win in the worst way.
After two impressive victories to start the year, including one in Las Vegas, the Mustangs have fallen on hard times.
In the first two wins, the Mustangs allowed just 12 points, but in the last two games, Muir has allowed 83 points and scored just 20.
Moreover, Muir can’t afford to start Pacific League play 0-2 if they have hopes of earning a playoff berth.
It might not be a literal must-win game, but it sort of feels that way for a number of reasons.
The biggest key on offense looks to be how often quarterback Jason Edwards can get the ball to star receiver Elijah Blades.
While Arcadia is unscathed, its four wins come against teams that have a combined record of 2-15.
Jahlique Sanders will be key for the Mustangs defense, as the Apaches running back is averaging 181 yards rushing per game and has 5 rushing TD’s.
Arcadia quarterback Max Davila averages just over 110 yards per game in the air, and has thrown only 2 TD’s and 5 interceptions.
Davila, though, has rushed for 5 scores.
