They might be injured.
Their roster might be thin.
But Scott Faer will never let Marshall give up.
In their third chance of avenging a loss from the week before (this season), the Eagles showed heart and resiliency in Friday’s 58-20 Mission Valley League victory over Gabrielino.
Jonathon Frimpong was the star of the game.
Frimpong rushed for just over 200 yards, and had four TD runs.
Marshall (5-3 overall, 2-2 in league) still has a shot at a playoff berth.
The Eagles finish at South El Monte next Friday and then wrap up the regular season Oct. 4 when they host Rosemead.
“We controlled the line of scrimmage,” Faer said. “We went with our motto: ‘three yards and a cloud of dust.’ They played so inspired and put together our best game in the last two years. Offense, defense and special teams were all great tonight.”
Mission Valley League Standings:
Arroyo (8-1 overall, 5-0 in league)
South El Monte (7-1, 3-1)
El Monte (5-4, 3-2)
