A couple weeks before the end of the regular season, Flintridge Sacred Heart was on the outside looking in for a CIF-Southern Section Division 1 playoff berth.

The Tologs, though, won two do-or-die Mission League games and are the better for it.

A few weeks later, Flintridge Sacred Heart is not only in the playoffs, they’ve already played themselves into the second round.

FSHA defeated visiting San Marcos, 25-15, 25-21 and 25-20, in a first-round match up.

Ellis DeJardin led the Tologs with 15 kills and 7 digs.

Kayla Lund added 12 kills 7 digs and 3 aces, while Natnalie Buntich had 5 kills.

Maddie Pernecky had a team-high 9 digs, as FSHA improved to 23-9.

FSHA will face Lakewood on Thursday night, with a coin flip deciding the locations.

Both the Tologgs and Lancers (29-4) had first-round home games on Tuesday.
