Mayfield’s singles struggled in a Prep League title match with Chadwick.
But not to worry, the doubles side picked up its game, and took out the Dolphins.
In Wednesday’s 12-6 victory in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs, the Cubs singles got back into form, winning 7 of their 9 matches against visiting Rowland.
As usual, the Cubs’ No. 1 singles player, Lauren Panajotovic, won all three of her sets by scores of 6-0.
Carly Hall, the Cubs No. 2 singles player, won all three matches and only lost a total of two games in all three of her matches combined.
Sofia Mireles was able to win one of her three matches.
Mayfield’s doubles went 5-4.
No. 1 doubles Jack Baggott and Ciara Venegas, and No. 2 Ariana and Alexia Saigh both won two of their three matches.
Mayfield travels to Great Oak, which defeated Buckley, 15-3.
