La Salle faced off with St. Anthony of Long Beach Tuesday with an early-season edge in the Del Rey League standings on the line.
Ashley Mayo scored in the 48th minute and Karly Petersen’s goal in the 70th minute turned out to be the difference.
The Lancers held on for a 2-1 victory.
Samantha Nieto assisted both goals.
La Salle (11-3-2 overall, 2-0 in league) will face La Canada on Thursday, and then next Tuesday, they’ll be back at it with Bishop Amat in a league showdown.
The Lancers junior varsity shut out St. Anthony, 2-0.
Lauren Veneri had 5 saves in goal for La Salle.
