As solid as the Panthers athletics programs tend to be, Poly is even better known for its academic excellence.
Last week, sports, for all intents and purposes, came to a screeching halt for the student-athletes to tend to their finals.
After 8 days away from a game, the Poly girls came back and dismantled Firebaugh, 51-3, Saturday night in a Prep League breeze.
Sarah Johnson led the way with 21 points, and Kylie Kishi added 11.
Juliana Lai had 6, Sarah Toyota 5, Alexis Pappachan 4, and Keara Caragher and Maddy Berger had 2 points apiece
The Panthers improved to 12-2 overall and 5-1 in Prep League play.
Poly will host first-place Flintridge Prep on Wednesday at 3:30.
