Muir had lost two of its past three Pacific League games and were starting to fall out of what they hoped would be a second-place finish.
But Javonte James and Tiyon Martin had 21 apiece on Monday, and the Mustangs were able to easily down Burroughs, 75-54.
James had 4 assists and 3 rebounds, and Martin added six assists and two steals to go along with their 21 points apiece.
Hunter Woods chipped in with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
Eric Hollins tossed in 10 points, 9 rebounds and a blocked shot.
Simaine Stewart Jr., had 8 points, 3 steals, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
Jalen Johnson also checked in with 6 points.
“We played hard, our press was good, and we’re starting to have fun again,” Muir coach Simaine Stewart Sr. said.
Muir will host Arcadia on Wednesday night at 6:30. The Apaches are coming off a 77-42 beatdown at the hands of Pasadena on Monday night.
The Mustangs are in a tie for second place with Crescenta Valley with four games to play, and Muir will get a shot at the Falcons on Friday in a road showdown.
