Lancer McKay Anderson is tied for sixth in the state in scoring at 20.8 points per game.
Dejon Williams came off the bench to score 17 points to lead five Pasadena City College men’s basketball players in double figures as the Lancers downed host Rio Hondo, 73-62, Friday night. The South Coast Conference North Division victory snapped a 6-game losing streak for PCC.
Williams added 10 rebounds while starting forward McKay Anderson also notched a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Eris Winder chipped in 15 points, seven assists and five steals while Will Johnson had 13 points and seven assists. Returning from missing the last three games due to injury, Todd Barnes aided the cause with 10 points in a reserve role.
PCC (6-15 overall, 1-3 in conference) kept Rio Hondo (8-14, 0-4) winless in the division. The Lancers trailed 34-33 early in the second half, then went on an 18-2 run over a 5-minute span. In the rally, Johnson knocked down two 3-pointers and Winder one trey.
The Lancers host state No. 16-rank East Los Angeles College on Wednesday, Feb. 1 in a 5 p.m. conference tip-off at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.
