La Salle had a chance to earn a share of the Camino Real League standings on Monday when they traveled to Long Beach to take on defending champion St. Anthony.

Back on Jan. 20, St. Anthony defeated the Lancers in Pasadena, 54-40.

La Salle was going to need a road victory, but it was not to be.

Marquise Nelloms, Damani Whitlock and Kaveon Wilson scored a combined 60 points as St. Anthony cruised to an 84-66 victory, and the outright league championship.

Whitlock led all scorers with 23, while Wilson had 19 and Nelloms added 18 for the Saints.

The closest La Salle got in the second half was when they got to within 11 midway through the fourth period.

Jaice Gardner and AJ Akobian had 16 each for La Salle.

The Lancers will travel to La Puente on Wednesday as they close out the regular season against third-place Bishop Amat at 7.
