Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks had lost each of its first 10 Mission League games heading into Wednesday night’s showdown with visiting St. Francis.
But Ziaire Williams scored 11 of his team-high 19 points in the fourth period, and the Knights defeated St. Francis, 68-62.
The game was competitive throughout, but Notre Dame’s 21-12 advantage in the second period was a 9-point deficit that the Golden Knights were unable to overcome.
The loss almost all but assures St. Francis will finish sixth in a 7-team league.
Joey Walsh led the Golden Knights with 23 points and 5 rebounds.
Malakhi Jensen added 18 and Andre Henry finished with 13 points.
Julian Rishwain had 14 for Notre Dame, including three 3 point buckets.
St. Francis will host first-place Alemany on Friday at 7 to close out their regular season schedule.
