Colleen Woo played her best in the Panthers biggest game thus far.

Woo scored twice and set up three more scores and Poly took down Fullerton, 11-7, in the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs Saturday.

“Senior Colleen Woo was everywhere in the pool for us,” Poly coach Ryan Katsuyama said. “She spent some time at the center position. She guarded Fullerton’s best player for most of the game. She provided picked up some big steals. Her 2 goals, 3 assists and 5 steals should tell you how valuable she was for us today.”

Megan Kelleher and Natalie Clark both scored three goals apiece for Poly (22-5)

Poly advances to Wednesday’s semifinals against Santa Ana Valley with a time and location to be determined.

Goalie Kate McInerny had a season-high 10 saves.

Lucy Harvey, Talie Wilmans and Morgan Shafia each had a goal for the Panthers.

Quotable:

Poly coach Ryan Katsuyama: “Today was quite interesting for us. We were off to a nice start and had built a 7-2 lead, but at the 2:36 mark left in the 2nd quarter, freshman Talie Wilmans, our leading goal scorer, fouled out of the game. Thankfully, our team rallied behind each other and played fantastic team defense down the stretch. Junior goalkeeper Kate McInerny had her best game of the season, picking up 10 saves with 3 of them in the final quarter when Fullerton was attempting their comeback. In all, I was proud of the effort from the team today. They rallied behind each other and stepped up to the challenge to fill the void left by the fact that we didn’t have Talie for 16+ minutes today.”

Box Score:
Poly: 3-5-1-2-(11)
Fullerton: 2-1-2-2-(7)
