Todd Barnes was a shooter on fire in the Pasadena City College men’s basketball team finale at East Los Angeles College Friday night. Barnes ended his PCC career in a flourish by making 11-for-12 from the field, including his last 10 shots in a row, in scoring 30 points in the Lancers’ 89-75 loss to the Huskies.
PCC finished the 2016-17 season at 7-20 overall and 2-8 in the South Coast Conference North Division, taking fifth place in the six-team league.
As had been the case for most of the season, the Lancers came out strong v. ELAC and led 31-28 by halftime. A 19-2 run by the Huskies though early in the second half allowed the game to turn quickly.
For Barnes, a letterman guard, he finished his Lancers career with 648 points, good enough for 46th place on PCC’s all-time scoring list. Sophomore guard Dejon Williams scored 16 points off the bench and he moved up to 37th spot with 718 career points.
Also finishing 1-year careers with PCC were season leading scorer and rebounder McKay Anderson, who had 10 points and averaged 18.8 points and 9 rebounds a game, and guard Eris Winder, who had 10 points, five steals and four assists.
