Westridge coach Melanie Horn has nothing but pride in her Tigers.
Despite Saturday’s 46-40 defeat at the hands of visiting Crean Lutheran, the Tigers finished the season with 8 wins in their final 10 games.
That included upset after upset in the CIF-SS Division 5-AA playoffs, including two road victories.
But Shannon O’Malley had 12 points and Jennifer Mazzarini added 11 more to help the Saints squeak by the Tigers.
Ashley Wei led Westridge with 13 points and Juliana Favela had 11.
Westridge still has a chance at a CIF State berth, because a semifinal run in the CIF Southern Section playoffs is the minimum requirement.
Ella Wood had 6 points, Sarah Rozario 4 and Stephanie Davis 3 for Westridge.
