It wasn’t quite the season opener Maranatha boys (and girls) volleyball coach Eli Cuenca was hoping for.
His Minutemen dropped a 25-12, 25-8 and 25-12 nonleague match up with visiting Rio Hondo Prep.
Senior Mac Ziestman had 3 kills and 4 aces for Maranatha (0-1).
Junior Josiah Rojas added 2 kills and 2 aces.
Maranatha will travel to San Marino on Thursday night at 4:30.
