In a non-league match, with sweeps from singles players, Matt Alleman (6-0, 6-0, 6-0) and Bryan Lin (7-6(2), 6-0, 6-0), as well as the doubles team of Drew Sierra and Billy Tan, the Minutemen were able to close out the Lions of Elmonte early in the third round of play, after leading 8-4 after two rounds. The doubles team of Matthew Leiva and Michael Mathews contributed two wins (4-6, 6-2, 6-2).
Maranatha goes back to its league schedule next week, as they travel down to Newport Beach to face Olympic League newcomer, the formidible Tarbut V Torah, a D-4 CIF quarterfinalist (8-10 loss to eventual CIF runner-up, Laguna Beach).
