It had been 25 days into the 2017 prep baseball season and St. Francis coach Aaron Dorlarque was still looking for a first win.

And if there was ever a best time to get a first win midway through the season, it would certainly be the opening of league play.

St. Francis got that Mission League opening win, 12-1, at Crespi.

Evan Tontini picked up the win after going five strong innings, and allowing three hits and one run.

Tontini walked two and struck out eight.

Nolan Shwery went the final two innings and struck out four Crespi batters.

Christian Muro, Niko Khoury and Brandon Lewis each drove in two runs each for St. Francis (1-7).

Doyle Kane, Muro, Khoury and Lewis had two hits apiece in the 12-hit Golden Knights attack.

Muro had an incredible day, going 2 for 4 with two hits and scored four runs.

St. Francis will host Crespi today (Wednesday) at 3:30 if it does not rain.
