Flintridge Prep was cruising through the first 19 matches of the 2017 season.
The Rebels were 17-2 and undefeated in Prep League play.
Prep, though, lost six of seven sets this week in losses to Gabrielino and Poly.
But they answered that wake-up call.
Prep defeated Taft and Burbank, 2-1, and earned a two-set sweep over Palmdale in the first day of the Crescenta Valley Tournament.
AJ Nicassio finished the day with 31 kills and 6 aces.
Jonny Samuels had 15 kills, and didn’t play in the third match.
Majeed Ismail had 20 kills and 6 blocks.
Jake Althouse added 11 aces and 8 blocks.
Leo Reilly led Prep with 31 digs.
Prep will compete today (Saturday) in the two-day tournament.
