First Teamers:

Charles Acker, Maranatha Sophomore:
Acker led Maranatha with a 7-2 record on the mound and a 1.29 ERA. He struck out 69 batters in 49 innings. Acker hit .352 with 32 hits, scored 20 runs and had 15 RBI.

Franco Alonso, Poly Sophomore:
Alonso was one of the area’s most versatile players. The Prep League’s MVP hit .364 with 28 hits, scored 28 runs and drove in 10 from the leadoff spot. He had six doubles, two triples, a home run and closed out games on the mound.

 

Max Blessinger, Maranatha Sophomore:
In the leadoff spot, Blessinger hit .421 with 40 hits, 36 runs scored and had 19 RBI. The sophomore second baseman also had 8 doubles, 2 triples and set a new school record with 34 stolen bases.

Alvie Castro, Pasadena Junior:
Castro led Pasadena with 5 wins on the mound and a 2.14 ERA. He struck out 57 batters in 72 innings. Castro also hit .314 with 27 hits and scored 15 runs. His 17 RBI and 4 home runs were team highs.

 

 

Danny Chiarodit, Flintridge Prep Senior:
Chiarodit led Prep with 29 hits and scored a team-best 29 runs. He also had a .359 average (second best), which included a triple and 11 RBI. His 11 walks was tied for the team high.

Adrian DePasquale, Pasadena Junior:
DePasquale’s 29 hits led PHS. He hit .358 with 12 runs scored and he drove in 10 runs. The Bulldogs’s junior was second with both 7 doubles and his .444 slugging percentage.

 

 

Ty Evans, Poly Junior:
Evans led the Prep League champs with 32 hits and finished with a .444 average. He drove in a team-best 31 runs, scored 21 times and had 11 doubles.

Grant Fosselman, La Salle Senior:
Fosselman was one of those guys who’s stats can’t accurately define his worth. He finished 4-5 on the mound with a 2.02 ERA, despite almost no run support. The lefty also struck out a team-best 67 batters in 65 innings.

 

Aryonis Harrison, Muir Sophomore:
Harrison led the Mustangs in five offensive categories. The sophomore hit .361 with 30 base hits, he scored 28 runs, had four triples and a home run.

Kendall Kikkawa, Flintridge Prep Senior:
The three-sport star finished his senior year as arguably the school’s most complete athlete. After starring on the football and basketball teams, he hit a team-best .368 with 28 hits, 23 runs scored and drove in 21 runs, and had 7 doubles.

 

Brandon Lewis, St. Francis Senior:
The 4-year varsity athlete led SF with a .408 average on 29 hits. He scored 12 runs, drove in 19, had 3 doubles, a triple and two home runs. SF won as many league games (6) this season as they had the previous three years combined.

Matt Loomis, Poly Junior:
Loomis led the entire area with 10 wins on the mound for the Prep League champions. He finished 10-3 with a 1.91 ERA and had an area-best 71 strikeouts, as the Panthers workhorse.

 

 

Trevor Marrs, Maranatha Senior:
Marrs was an unexpected star on the mound. He went 4-0 with a 0.78 ERA in 36 innings. He struck out 29 and allowed just four earned runs. Marrs hit .339 with 21 hits, 12 runs scored, 18 RBI and four doubles.

Christian Muro, St. Francis Junior:
Muro was second on the Golden Knights with a .289 average and 28 hits and four doubles. He had a team-best 27 runs scored and also drove in 13 runs.

 

 

Dawson Netz, Maranatha Sophomore:
Netz was 5-3 with a 0.88 ERA, which included an area-best two postseason victories on the mound (Temple City, Alhambra) and 68 strikeouts. He hit .301 with 25 hits, 12 runs scored and 13 RBI.

Aaron Treloar, St. Francis Junior:
Treloar was third on the Golden Knights with a .286 average against arguably the area’s toughest (Mission League) pitching. He had 22 hits, scored six runs and was second with 17 RBI, and first with five doubles.

 

 

Matt Queen, Poly Junior:
Queen had an area-best .526 average. He had 30 hits, scored 18 runs, and drove in 17. He also had four doubles, 3 triples and a home run. The lefty went 5-0 with a 1.40 ERA, which included a playoff victory over Yucca Valley.

Jesse Zarazua, Muir Senior:
Zarazua was 5-3 on the mound with a 2.76 ERA and struck out 69 batters in just 58 innings. The Mustangs’ senior also hit .301 with 25 hits and 10 doubles. He scored 16 runs and drove in 17
