What a way to begin league play.

The Pasadena area’s best pitcher, Devyn Netz, shut down Whittier Christian on the road.

The sophomore allowed one hit, walked one and struck out seven as the Minutemen opened Olympic League play with a 12-0 victory at Whittier Christian.

Netz helped her own cause at the plate with a single, double and an RBI.

Priscilla McAllister had a huge game for the Minutemen.

McAllister singled twice, doubled, tripled and drove in three runs.

Aly Granados had a pair of doubles.

Gracie Rose had two hits, walked and stole a base and Mackenzie Pam had a single.

Miranda Lopez drove in three runs in the victory.

Maranatha will host Heritage Christian next Tuesday at 3:30.
