Firebaugh probably couldn’t get Franco Alonso out of their mind on the bus ride home to Lynwood.
The Poly junior went all five innings on the mound, allowing two hits, walked one and struck out 11 in the Panthers’ 21-0 victory over visiting Firebaugh in a Prep League game Tuesday.
Alonso was equally as brutal to the Falcons at the plate.
He went 4 for 4 with three doubles, scored twice and drove in five runs.
Ten different Poly players had at least one hit.
Ben Bryson went 4 for 4 with four runs scored and an RBI.
Jackson Hayes finished 2 for 3 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs.
Sean McTigue doubled and had a pair of RBIs and David Mathias had one hit, scored three runs and drove in two.
Ty Evans added two hits, two RBIs and a run scored.
Poly will travel to Firebaugh on Friday at 3:30.
