From STAFF REPORTS

St. Francis bounced back from Tuesday’s disappointment thanks to several Golden Knights’ bats coming to life, and a dominant effort on the mound from Point Loma-bound senior Aaron Treloar.

Treloar went the first six innings, allowing just a first-inning run and struck out seven to lead St. Francis to an 8-5 victory over Crespi.

Treloar allowed just a sixth-inning hit on Wednesday.

It was the Golden Knights first Mission League triumps in their fifth attempt.

The victory, though, didn’t come as easily as they would have liked.

The Celts rallied for four runs in the seventh inning off a St. Francis reliever.

Chris Stamos, however, the Golden Knights ace, came in as the third pitcher of the day and the senior lefty closed out the Celts.

Sophomore Mikey Kane was 1-2 with 2 sacs and a walk.

Senior John Spellman was 1-3 with a double, RBI and run scored.

Senior Christian Muro was 3-5, and scored one run.

Treloar had one hit and scored a third-inning run.

Sophomore Brendan Durfee was 1-4 with a double, RBI and run scored.

St. Francis will play the final of three this week at Crespi at 3:30.
