Poly will have the next week off, but they went into the break on a high note.
The Panthers’ Brennah Bronk went the distance and helped Poly edge Flintridge Prep, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon.
The victory has Poly in the Prep League penthouse at 4-0.
Bronk allowed three hits and three unearned runs, while striking out 8.
Maddie Magee went 2 for 2, with a sac fly. She scored once and drove in a run.
Rory Xanders went 1 for 1 with 2 walks.
Laura Chin had two bunt singles.
Megan Kelleher was able to get a base hit to tie the game up in the fifth inning.
Ella Cornwell scored the winning run coming out of the flex position.
Ali Ulin went 1 for 2 with a walk, and she scored the eventual game-winning run.
Brennah Bronk and Catalina Alonso scored a run apiece.
Libby Penn went 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored for Prep.
Melissa Grande had one hit, scored one run and drove in another.
Poly has a week off and then travels to Westridge next Wednesday at 3:30
Prep will travel to Firebaugh next Tuesday at 3:30.
