It’s not often you can say that a team got a gut check during the first week of the season.
But that’s exactly what the La Salle boys water polo program faced and overcame on Tuesday.
The Lancers were outscored 6-3 in the second half and the game went into overtime.
With the momentum in Pioneer’s direction, La Salle showed its mettle by outlasting the Titans, 11-10, in overtime.
Art Xue was the La Salle offense, scoring 7 of La Salle’s 11 goals.
Graham Williams added two goals and Michael Piesik and Brian Boull’t had one goal apiece.
La Salle will travel to Glendale next Thursday at 3:30
