No one wanted to say it.
But anyone who knows football, knew St. Francis was going to go into Pasadena’s stadium and dominate.
And dominate they did.
In fact, most of the Golden Knights starters spent the second half rooting on their backups.
St. Francis took a five-touchdown lead into the half and cruised to a 42-0 victory.
None of their star players’ numbers will look spectacular because the lack of game time, but the important part was they got the job done and move into next week’s showdown with La Serna rested and healthy.
Darius Perrantes was 6 of 8 for 215 yards, including two TD’s and one interception.
The Golden Knights junior now has 8 touchdown passes and 2 picks in about 5 quarters of work over the past two weeks.
Perrantes played just over three quarters in the 48-21 victory over Mira Costa and two more on Friday night.
Blake Howard made the best of his one catch.
The senior, who is the Golden Knights’ all-everything type of player took a Perrantes pass 71 yards for a score.
Andrew Cabato also scored on a 17-yard connection with Perrantes.
Greg Dulcich had two catches for 83 yards and Andrew Monarrez had a 51-yard reception for St. Francis.
Elijah Washington got his first two rushing touchdowns of 2017.
Kevin Armstead scored once on the ground, and Max Mota had a scoop-and-score TD on defense for the Golden Knights.
