Pasadena City College football team freshman quarterback Isaia Ah-Hing and letterman kicker-punter Enrique Lozano were named SCFA Metro League Players of the Week for week No. 4. The pair helped the Lancers rally to defeat Southwestern, 38-34, on Saturday for PCC’s first win of the season.
Ah-Hing (from Rosemead High) was named Top Offensive Player while Lozano (Montebello HS) was the Special Teams POW for the second time this year.

The Lancers (1-3) begin the Metro League part of their schedule this Saturday, Sept. 30 when they travel to face Compton College in a 6 p.m. kickoff.
In the all-time series between the two schools, Compton holds a 26-24-3 edge. PCC won last year’s encounter, 31-20 and has a mini, 2-game win streak against the Tartars (0-4 this year). Compton last beat PCC in 2008 in week 2 by a 42-34 count.
The Metro League took a beating overall in pre-league games. The American Division (teams that do not compete for the state title) Metro has just four victories against 24 losses among the seven teams competing. Four of the colleges are winless in Compton, Glendale, West Los Angeles and LA Southwest. Last year’s league champ East Los Angeles is the only Metro team with more than one win at 2-2 while PCC and Santa Ana have a win each at 1-3. Opponents have doubled the score on Metro teams at 1,053-505 for an average score of opponents 37.7 to Metro teams 18 points a game.
Despite starting the season on a 3-game losing streak, the Lancers still have a shot at achieving a winning year for the first time since 2008.
